The UC Davis Foundation provides financial and material oversight to the University of California, Davis, in its efforts to grow and educate the next generation of global leaders. Under the governance of an elected, volunteer board of trustees, the foundation steers private funding toward the university in areas that can most benefit from its support, whether academic scholarships, new facilities, or other key needs. Each member of the board brings to the foundation a rich degree of accomplishment in his or her field, along with a commitment to the university’s advancement and evolution.
The spring 2013 UC Davis Foundation Newsletter discussed the foundation’s Matching Fund for Student Support, a campaign initiated in December of 2012 with a gift of $1 million from the board. Since its launch, the campaign has led to an additional $3.5 million in funding. These gifts, plus others, helped UC Davis meet its target funding of $120 million, which the university has designated for the benefit of students.
